If you’re a fan of Vampire Survivors and wish you could play it on your phone, here are some of the best Android games similar to it. I’ve only included free mobile games in this list that aren’t aggressive with in-game ads.
The last thing anyone wants in their free Android game is non-stop ads. I’ve come across a few games like Vampire Survivors that are worth avoiding. Make sure to use our list so you don’t download the wrong ones. With that said, I’ve updated this article on 12/8/22 since you can now download Vampire Survivors on Android for free.
1. Mount and Magic
Developer | YOULOFT GAMES |
Play Store Link | Download Here |
Mount and Magic is easily my first recommendation for a great Android game like Vampire Survivors. It has a great soundtrack while also balancing the difficulty well to not be boring but not too easy. Also, you won’t run into many ads unless you choose to watch them.
Similar to many of these mobile games, you can usually watch an ad for extra rewards. Such as upgrading a chest to get three items instead of one. While you don’t need to, the option is there to make your run a little easier. Mount and Magic has many items Vampire Survivors players will recognize with a few unique ones too
2. Magic Survival
Developer | LEME |
Play Store Link | Download Here |
You may have already heard of Magic Survival since it’s the mobile game that inspired Vampire Survivors. So if you’re a fan of one, you may enjoy the other. What I like most about Magic Survival is the variety of items/spells you can get. Even though you can’t evolve spells, you can change them by picking unique traits while leveling them.
This opens Magic Survival up to tons of build combinations if you want to get creative. Also, there are tons of classes you can unlock each with their own starting spell. The only time you’ll run into ads is after finishing a run or watching one to revive if you want. My main complaint is the enemies are a little too similar.
3. Super Wizard
Developer | Mofish, Inc. |
Play Store Link | Download Here |
Super Wizard took me by surprise since it has a decent amount going on outside the runs themselves. Such as a battle pass, a skill tree for meta progression/upgrades, and even items to equip your character with. Or even the silly gimmicks like spinning the Lucky Wheel for rewards.
Even though notifications can be aggressive, this is another Android game where you’ll mainly see ads if you choose to. Similar to Magic Survival, I like that you get experience from killing enemies as well as picking up orbs or cards. I can easily see someone putting a ton of time into Super Wizard.
4. Grimnight Heroes: Survivors
Developer | Gold Helm Games, LLC |
Play Store Link | Download Here |
Grimnight Heroes: Survivors is one of my favorite Android games like Vampire Survivors. If you’re a fan of pixel art you’ll especially love the retro vibe it has. The graphics are good alongside a solid chiptune soundtrack as well.
Grimnight Heroes also has a great variety of enemies across different stages and some unique weapons too. Such as the starting sword that attacks in the direction you’re looking or the boomerang. It’s worth mentioning that the grind for new characters can be rough if you don’t watch ads to multiply your reward.
5. Alien Survivors
Developer | NLABSOFT Co., Ltd. |
Play Store Link | Download Here |
Alien Survivors originally known as Tank Alien War is a nice change of pace with a more military focus. Instead of controlling a wizard or riding a horse, you control a tank and shoot at aliens. While the enemy variety could be better, I do like the objective focus of each stage.
Instead of simply being thrown in with the goal of surviving, you may have to find downed drones or rescue researchers from a prison. Unlike many games in this list, you’ll need to collect gears to gain experience. This can be annoying since they seem randomly placed around the map. As opposed to dropping from aliens.
You’ll mainly run into ads when completing a run or if you choose to watch them for extra items/technology. One thing that bugs me about Alien Survivors, no pun intended, is that it takes a while for the difficulty to ramp up. So the beginning can be a little slow.
6. Pixel Mage Survival
Developer | CreativeKind |
Play Store Link | Download Here |
Pixel Mage Survival is one of the fastest Android games on this list and it goes for a Diablo vibe. While I do like the style they’re going for, I do wish they’d do more with their music. Games like these usually benefit from a quick upbeat soundtrack, but this one is just calm and creepy.
With that said, I like the speed of Pixel Mage Survival, the difficulty is solid, and the variety of weapons is great. It could do with more information describing them though. As far as ads go, you can watch them for extra items but you will have to watch one after a run. One thing I like about Pixel Mage Survival is it’s the only game on this list that plays in landscape mode/widescreen.
7. Gothic Survival
Developer | Misha Soliterman |
Play Store Link | Download Here |
Gothic Survival is a great addition to this list because of how well it works overall. It has a good variety of enemies, tons of unique weapons, and good pacing for the difficulty as well. What I love most about Gothic Survival is that there doesn’t seem to be a limit on how many items/weapons you get.
This leads to a fun chaos of having a ton of different animations and skills hitting simultaneously. While I can’t say having a bunch of low level items is the best strategy, it’s definitely silly to watch. As far as ads go, I’ve only noticed one optional ad for a revive to full health.
That’s all there is to this list of the best Android games like Vampire Survivors worth playing. I may add more games to this list at a later time as well. Otherwise, be sure to check out our other list full of the Best Idle Games to Play.
