Learning how to get points in the MMORPG Torn is useful for unlocking new content, spending them on stuff like energy refills, and more. While there aren’t a lot of different ways, there are a few tips and tricks we’ll share in this guide.
If you haven’t taken a look at the Points Building yet, here are some of the different things you can spend them on below. Unfortunately, the cost of buying them can add up fast so it can be tough as a new Torn player.
- Energy Refill
- Nerve Refill
- Unlocking the Stock Ticker for the Stock Market
- Racing License
- Bazaar
- Reset Merits
How to Get Points in Torn
Buy From the Points Market
The most common way a lot of Torn players will get points is by buying them from the Points Market. This is a building in the city where you can buy points from other players. While the prices do fluctuate slightly over time, they tend to stay relatively stable.
One annoying thing about this method is that you can’t easily choose how many points you want to buy. For example, if one player is selling 100 points, you’d have to buy all of them instead of a portion. So you may have to spend more money to get a smaller amount or wait for an opportunity.
Convert Items to Points at the Museum
Players who have completed all History Modules can access the Museum and exchange certain items for points. For example, converting one of every plushie will give you 10 points. This is the main reason players travel to other countries in Torn to buy plushies. Similarly, the same case goes for flowers as well.
While there are plenty of other item sets shown in the screenshot above that you can exchange, these tend to be much more rare. Such as the Egyptian Amulet for 10,000 points which only has 484 currently available in the game.
Spin Leslie’s Wheel For a Chance
You can play the odds and try spinning each of the three wheels Leslie has for a chance at earning points. Although, you may get unlucky and lose or even get knocked out instead. That aside, this is definitely one of the least reliable ways to get points in Torn.
- Wheel of Lame – Chance to get 1
- Wheel of Mediocre – Chance to get 1 or 5
- Wheel of Awesome – Chance to get 5 or 100
Become a Torn Subscriber
If you spend real money and become a Subscriber you’ll be entered into daily Subscriber Draws where you can get points. However, it is still a lottery so this isn’t a guarantee either. Unfortunately, those who become Donators via Donator Packs won’t be entered into the giveaway. But you do get 50 points for opening Donator Packs. Here are the Subscriber Draw amounts below:
- 10,000
- 5,000
- 2,500
- 1,000
- 1,000
Compete in Faction Ranked Wars
Ranked Wars among factions can be a great way to make money in Torn as well as get points. Depending on what rank your faction can play a major role in how high your rewards are though. And while your faction will get rewards like points, there’s no guarantee they share them with you.
It’s more likely that you’ll be given a certain amount of money based on your participation. However, every faction operates differently so I can’t say for sure what they’ll give you. This is one of many reasons it’s good to know what you’re getting into before joining a faction.
Participate in Certain Torn Events
One example of a Torn event where you can get a lot of points if you win or at least place top three is Mr. and Mrs. Torn. However, not everyone may want to participate since it requires posting a real picture of yourself and getting creative. The event revolves around players giving each picture a score. Here are the reward amounts:
- First Place – 10,000
- Second Place – 5,000
- Third Place – 2,500
Contributing to the Torn City Times Newspaper
If you become a reporter in Torn for the newspaper you can get 250 points for each article published. Most players likely won’t go this route considering there haven’t been that many reporters with how rare the honor bar is. With that said, I have done it and yes, you do get 250 points. You can also contribute tips to the newspaper for other rewards like Donator Packs.
That aside, that’s about all there is to how to get points in Torn. There may be a couple of other creative ways like faction giveaways, but there isn’t much more to it. Be sure to check out other useful Torn guides we recommend below.
